At the start of this course we began by analysing thrillers to broaden our understanding of the genre. The first film we studied was Memento; it introduced technical codes which helped us to focus more on the subtext of the film. Our understanding was expanded through watching other thrillers through out the term.
We have also during the process watched films such as The Birds and Pacific Heights all of which helped us gain a clearer understanding of the conventions of a thriller.
Currently we have been told to make a triller. At this stage we are story boarding our preliminary task which allows us to make the most effective use of our filming time. In our preliminary task we are told to:
-opens a door
-walks across the room
-sits down in a chair opposite another character
-exchanges two sentences of a conversation.
At this stage we are story boarding our ideas.
